The Travel Perk That Helps Me Book Flights for Less Than $6 Each
- Over the past decade, I have traveled 50 to 100 times a year, often paying as little as $ 5.60 per flight.
- The Southwest Companion Pass allowed me to bring a boyfriend with me on each southwest flight.
- A limited -term promotion facilitates your own Southwest Compagnon pass.
The only thing I like more than traveling is traveling with someone I love.
Since 2013, I have been able to book more than 30 Buy-One-On-One flights by maximizing one of the best travel advantages.
My Southwest companion collar allowed me to book a second post for a boyfriend of my choice on any southwest flight that I take, at the cost of airfare taxes and fees – as little as $ 5.60.
I can steal friends and family for almost free
I used the Southwest Companion Pass for a spontaneous getaway on weekends to help a friend overcome a bad break. The cruise through Hollywood in a rental convertible has greatly contributed to helping him feel again.
Instead of spending more than $ 800 round trip for two last-minute tickets, I paid only $ 10 in cash for the two of us in addition to the points I spent for my flight. (I let her buy a drink to make the same.)
My pass helped me steal a young brother to New York and Portland for new jobs. I did not earn a lot of money at the time, but he had even less as a new graduate. I wanted to contribute to his career significantly, so I proposed to help him visit the apartments in his new city soon and to cover the cost of our flights.
Southwest does not charge up to two recorded bags, so we were able to bring everything he needed in four suitcases instead of paying movers to ship his things or have him drive a U-Haul across the country.
I also used the Southwest Companion Pass to half the price of the management of a partner to weddings and holidays at your destination.
Several years ago, we went to New Zealand for about $ 260 per person, thanks to this advantage. We have booked sales flights on Air New Zealand from Los Angeles for only $ 249 per person, even if we do not live in California. Then, I reserved cheap tickets from the southwest with points to bring us from Austin to Los Angeles, paying only $ 11.20 round trip per person for taxes and costs.
How the Southwest Companion Pass works
To obtain the Southwest Companion Pass, you must earn 135,000 rapid reward points or fly 100 flights to the southwest during a calendar year.
Winning 135,000 rapid award points generally requires spending a ton of money on southwest flights, or opening two credit cards from the South West in one year to win their Welcome Bonus Offers.
But at the moment, there is an easy way to get the Southwest Companion Pass for a whole year: get a single new credit card from the Southwest and meet its welcome bonus expenditure requirements.
Southwest offers several credit cards for loyal travelers, including the priority credit card Southwest Rapids®, which is one of the business insider’s Best Airline Credit Cards.
The most affordable Southwest credit card is the Southwest Rapids® Plus credit card, which has annual fees of only $ 69 – a fantastic case for the flights of the purchase of unlimited purchase 02/28/26 If you can win the bonus by 03/31/25.

The Southwest Companion Pass is surprisingly easy to use
I found the Southwest Companion pass incredibly easy to use, even when I need to cancel or read travel.
You have to choose a person to be your companion at any time, although you can change your designated boyfriend up to three times a year.
After booking my own Southwest flight online, a button appears automatically next to my reservation which allows me to book my friend’s ticket.
I can only use the Southwest Companion Pass if there is an additional seat available on the plane. But as Southwest does not currently attribute seats, I have almost always found availability when I reserve because any seat that is not already sold is a fair game.
I saved more than $ 10,000 on southwest flights
The Southwest Companion Pass is one in my favorite ways to share travel experiences with my loved ones. And I’m not alone: thousands of people on Reddit and Facebook Rave about this travel profit, especially if they have children.
Some experienced households earn a parent-bass pass per parent so that they can bring two children to any additional airline on family trips to ambitious (and expensive) places like Disneyworld and Hawaii.
The 30 flights and more that I have booked for friends and family would likely cost more than $ 10,000.
I would probably not have made as many trips if I did not have the passage of companion, so I will not say that it put money back in my wallet. Instead, I would say that my Southwest Companion collar gave me $ 10,000 to make basic memories with the people I love the most.
