Pensacola could get a new extended-stay hotel soon after LivAway Suites filed a development proposal with Escambia County last week.
The hotel brand proposed building a four-story hotel with 59,712 square feet and 126 rooms using an approximately 2.66-acre parcel behind the Hampton Inn & Suites near the corner of Creighton and Plantation roads. Developers want the hotel to have a laundry and fitness facility as well.
Since LivAway Suites is an extended-stay hotel brand, their rooms are designed to be comfortable and are equipped with multiple amenities like kitchenettes, full-size fridges and cooktops. Their development proposal was filed with the county on Feb. 5 and it hasnโt been reviewed by the Development Review Committee (DRC) at this time.
It’s one of a few new hotels planned for the area.
Hilton was approved last year to build its first local location of its extended-stay brand, named Livsmart Studios by Hilton, just down the road from the site of LivAway Studiosโ proposal. Meanwhile, construction for an incoming Tru by Hilton hotel is nearing completion on North Davis Highway after it was approved by the DRC in 2022.
LivAway Suites is in the process of opening five other hotels in Florida, but the Pensacola location will be its lone hotel in northwest Florida if its development is approved by Escambia County.
The Utah-based brand has four locations open across the U.S. and theyโre planning to expand their reach to at least 19 states so far after starting operations in 2023.
LivAway Suites has opened hotels in the following cities so far:
- Missoula, Montana
- Nashville, Tennessee
- Salt Lake City, Utah
- Richland, Washington
