QC airport celebrates inaugural flight to balmy Sarasota, Florida

MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) – If the frigid February temperatures have you wanting to get away to a warm destination, the Quad Cities International Airport now has flights to Sarasota, Florida.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday morning for the inaugural Allegiant Airlines flight to Sarasota.

When the flight left Moline, it was about 13 degrees. When passengers get off the plane it’ll be about 82 degrees.

Allegiant Air had its largest expansion last year.

The route runs Thursdays and Sundays through May 11.
